In the quiet neighborhood of Iroquois in South Louisville, 75-year-old Bernard Abell was found dead in his home on Southland Terrace on a Sunday morning in January 2015. What was initially treated as a death investigation took a darker turn when the coroner's autopsy revealed the cause of death to be blunt force trauma, leading police to rule it a homicide. Abell, a retired mechanic and a native of Marengo, Indiana, was pronounced dead at the scene shortly before 10 a.m.
