Do you know who murdered Shawn Stoudemire? In the closing days of 2014, a Louisville, Kentucky man, Shawn Stoudemire, a 40-year-old male, lost his life in a violent encounter that would lead to a complex legal situation for his alleged accomplices. On the morning of December 30th, police were called to a home on Dumesnil Street near South 32nd Street after reports of gunshots. Inside, they discovered Stoudemire's body, and it was determined that he had died from a gunshot wound.

Stoudemire was not a resident of the home where he was found. In fact, police reported that Stoudemire was participating in a burglary at the residence when the homeowner shot him. Investigators with the Louisville Metro Police Department deemed the homeowner's actions to be in self-defense, and consequently, no charges were filed against them. The scene outside the house grew tense as dozens of Stoudemire's family members and friends gathered, seeking answers about what had transpired.
The case took a significant turn in January 2015 when Louisville Metro Police made arrests in connection with Stoudemire's death. However, the men arrested were not charged with firing the fatal shot. Instead, 23-year-old Jeffrey Bradley was taken into custody and charged with murder, burglary, tampering with physical evidence, and trafficking in a controlled substance. Shortly after, a second suspect, Devon Lightfoot, was also arrested and faced charges of murder and burglary. The legal reasoning behind the murder charges was that Stoudemire's death occurred while they were allegedly committing a felony. Lightfoot also faced separate drug charges.
