In the early morning hours of May 12, 2017, a private party at the Bonded Links Motorcycle Club in Nicholasville, Kentucky, turned deadly. Amidst a gathering of 50 to 100 people, gunfire erupted, resulting in a triple shooting that claimed the life of 27-year-old Mark Boguszewski of Louisville. Boguszewski, a male, was found deceased at the scene in a grassy area near the former clubhouse.
Two other individuals were also shot during the incident and were transported to the hospital for their injuries.
The investigation into the shooting was met with significant challenges as law enforcement officials reported a lack of cooperation from potential witnesses. Despite numerous possible leads, many who were present at the event denied seeing anything. This lack of information hampered the early stages of the investigation and made it difficult to identify a shooter or shooters. The Nicholasville police have not publicly stated whether they believe there was more than one gunman involved in the incident.
In an effort to generate new leads, the Nicholasville police, in conjunction with the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, announced a $5,000 reward for information that would lead to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for the shooting. Tragically, the death toll from the shooting rose when a second victim, 27-year-old Zach Cawthorn, succumbed to complications from his gunshot wounds. A third victim, who has not been publicly identified, was also wounded in the shooting. As of the latest available information, no arrests have been made in connection with the deaths of Mark Boguszewski and Zach Cawthorn, and no suspects have been publicly named.
