In the late afternoon of a September day in Louisville, Kentucky, the life of 18-year-old Mario 'Peanut' Marks Jr. was cut tragically short. On September 1, 2021, gunshots rang out in the Newburg neighborhood, and when police responded to the intersection of Jefferson Boulevard and Poplar Level Road around 4:30 p.m., they discovered Marks inside a car, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was rushed to the University of Louisville Hospital but ultimately succumbed to his injuries.
