In the summer of 2014 in Louisville, Kentucky, a violent encounter cut short the life of 30-year-old Purnell Lester. On August 8th, Lester was inside a car at the Beecher Terrace Housing Complex on Fisk Court when he was struck by a gunshot to the head. In a desperate bid for help, someone drove the vehicle, now riddled with bullets and with its windows shattered, two blocks away from the scene of the shooting.
