In the early hours of September 16, 2016, a quiet street in Louisville's Pleasure Ridge Park neighborhood became the scene of a brutal double homicide. Inside a home on Gerald Avenue, 51-year-old Thomas E. Holmes and his 20-year-old son, Thomas A. Holmes, were found dead from multiple gunshot wounds. Thomas E. Holmes was a white male. Authorities were initially called to the residence around 1 a.m. following a report of a home invasion, a detail that would later be questioned.
