In the early evening of September 24, 2021, a burst of gunfire shattered the calm in Louisville, Kentucky's Park Hill neighborhood, leaving a local musician and beloved family man dead. Marion Richard Caldwell III, a 34-year-old Black male known to many by his nickname 'Slowdown,' was discovered with gunshot wounds around 9 p.m. on Dixie Highway near Wilson Avenue. Despite the immediate response of the Louisville Metro Police Department, Caldwell was pronounced dead at the scene.
