In the early morning hours of August 10, 2020, in Louisville, Kentucky, a discovery was made that would forever alter the lives of one family. Velvin Smith, a 29-year-old Black male, was found inside a vehicle at the intersection of Cane Run Road and Crums Lane, the victim of a fatal shooting. The Jefferson County Coroner's Office pronounced him dead at the scene from gunshot wounds.
