In the late summer of 2018, a Sunday morning in Louisville, Kentucky, turned tragic for the congregation of Elim Baptist Church. Bennie Berry, a 43-year-old man, had just attended the morning service on August 26th. Shortly after leaving the church, as he crossed the street at the corner of 32nd Street and Greenwood Avenue in the Parkland neighborhood, he was shot multiple times.
