In the spring of 2022, a tragic event unfolded in southwest Louisville that cut short the lives of two young men. On the night of Saturday, April 2, police were called to the 3200 block of New Lynnview Drive in the St. Denis neighborhood. There, they discovered a crashed vehicle with 19-year-old Amear Clay and 20-year-old T'ylan Whetstone inside. Both men had been fatally shot.

Months later, an arrest was made in connection with the double homicide. Terral White, 21 years old at the time, was taken into custody on a Wednesday in July and charged with two counts of murder for the deaths of Clay and Whetstone. An investigation revealed that both victims had been shot in the back of the head.

Surveillance footage played a crucial role in identifying a suspect. According to police reports, video evidence showed White armed with a gun outside his apartment before the shooting. Further footage captured him getting into the victims' vehicle shortly before the incident and then being the sole individual to exit and flee the car after it crashed. Following his arrest, White was held at Louisville Metro Corrections.
