In a tragic and senseless act of violence, 16-year-old Dysheae Hall, a female, was shot and killed on June 12, 2022, in Decatur, Georgia. The incident occurred in the parking lot of a Kroger grocery store on Flat Shoals Parkway. Hall was an innocent bystander caught in the crossfire when a dispute between two groups escalated into gunfire.
At the time of the shooting, Hall was in a vehicle with friends when individuals in another car opened fire. Another teenager, 17-year-old Javonte Wood, was also struck by the gunfire and was left in critical condition. Police believe the shooting stemmed from a minor argument that tragically turned deadly.
In the days following the shooting, DeKalb County police released images of persons of interest and a white vehicle they were seeking in connection with the crime. This led to a break in the case, and DeAnthony Alexander Cullins of Ellenwood surrendered to authorities. Cullins was subsequently charged with malice murder and aggravated assault with a weapon for his alleged role in the shooting that ended Dysheae Hall's life and critically injured Javonte Wood. He was taken into custody without bond.
