The horrific events unfolded on December 3, 2022, when Louisville Metro Police discovered the bodies of Adrianna, her 11-year-old sister Brianna, and their 49-year-old mother, Mary Stanton, inside their home on East Pages Lane. All three had been fatally shot. The investigation concluded that the perpetrator was Adrianna's 60-year-old father, Gary Stanton, who took his own life after killing his wife and two daughters in what was determined to be a murder-suicide. The Jefferson County Coroner's Office confirmed that Adrianna and her mother suffered multiple gunshot wounds, while her younger sister was shot once.
The motive behind the killings remains unclear, leaving family and the community in shock and disbelief. Family members described Mary Stanton as a vibrant and optimistic woman who had recently become a registered nurse. Brianna, a student at Noe Middle School, was remembered as a lively and friendly child. The family had recently traveled to Kenya to bury Mary's father, and relatives said there were no apparent signs of trouble leading up to the tragedy.
