On a spring evening in Minneapolis, Minnesota, the life of 19-year-old Iaan James Wade, a Black male, was cut short by gunfire. The fatal incident occurred on April 22, 2021, at approximately 8:39 p.m. at the intersection of East 22nd Street and Oakland Avenue South in the Phillips neighborhood. When police and paramedics arrived at the scene, they found Wade suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Despite their efforts to render aid, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
