In the early hours of a summer morning in Minneapolis, Minnesota, the life of Demontez Whitner, a 27-year-old Black male, was tragically cut short. On July 21, 2018, Whitner was found deceased in his car on the 5700 block of 33rd Avenue South. The Hennepin County Medical Examiner would later confirm that he had died from multiple gunshot wounds, ruling his death a homicide.
