On June 11, 2022, Hassan Abu Mohamed, a 31-year-old resident of Minneapolis, MN, was found dead in the driver's seat of a vehicle near the intersection of West 15th Street and Nicollet Avenue. The Minneapolis Police Department responded to reports of shots fired at approximately 3:20 a.m. Upon arrival, officers discovered Mohamed with a fatal gunshot wound to the head. The Hennepin County Medical Examiner later confirmed his identity and cause of death.
