In the early hours of a Monday morning, the quiet of a Kansas City, Kansas street was broken by the sound of gunfire. On June 30, 2014, in the 200 block of North 23rd Street, a Hispanic male named Jose Henriquez was found critically injured. The 40-year-old had been shot, and the initial moments of the investigation began as he was rushed to a local hospital.
