Gerardo G. Jiminez, a 35-year-old Hispanic male, was fatally shot in the early morning hours of Friday, February 6, 2015, in Kansas City, Kansas. The incident occurred inside a residence located in the 2400 block of West 42nd Avenue in the Rosedale area. Police responded to a call at approximately 4:07 a.m. and discovered Mr. Jiminez's body, determining that he had died from multiple gunshot wounds.
The investigation into the homicide was conducted by the Kansas City, Kansas Police
Department's major case unit, with assistance from police departments in Kansas City, Missouri, and Westwood, Kansas. The day after the shooting, an arrest was made in connection with the case in Kansas City, Missouri.
The suspect was identified as Andrew M. Farish, a 25-year-old resident of Westwood, Kansas. The Wyandotte County District Attorney's Office subsequently charged Farish with one count of Murder in the Second Degree and one count of Criminal Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon. Farish had a prior felony conviction from 2008 for robbery. Following the charges, a warrant was issued for his arrest with a bond set at $1,000,000, and he was held in custody in Missouri awaiting extradition to Wyandotte County.
