Lonnie V. Mitchell, a 21-year-old Black man, was found shot to death on the afternoon of Monday, June 22, 2015. His body was discovered in the street in the 1900 block of North Third Street in Kansas City, Kansas, after police responded to reports of gunfire in the area at approximately 2:10 p.m. Both Mitchell and the individual later accused in his death were residents of Kansas City, Kansas.
