In the early morning hours of July 5, 2020, tragedy struck in Kansas City, Kansas, when 27-year-old Edwin Pinto was fatally shot. The incident occurred at approximately 2:20 a.m. in the 1000 block of Ridge Avenue, where police responded to a call regarding a shooting. Upon their arrival, officers discovered Mr. Pinto deceased at the scene from a gunshot wound. His death was one of two separate fatal shootings that occurred in the city that same morning.
