On a tragic Friday afternoon in Kansas City, Kansas, on September 2, 2016, the life of 15-year-old Brannae Brown, a Black female, was cut short by gunfire. Brannae was with friends on the porch of a home when a car, described as an old Chevy Impala, approached. An occupant of the vehicle opened fire on the group. As chaos erupted and people scattered, Brannae was struck by a bullet.
