On August 30, 2017, the life of 29-year-old Kevin James Fowler, a White/Caucasian male, was cut short in Kansas City, Kansas. In a house located in the 1400 block of North 75th Drive, Fowler was fatally shot in the chest. Neighbors later recounted hearing the sound of gunshots before witnessing men hastily fleeing the scene. The Kansas City, Kansas Police Department's Criminal Investigations Division immediately launched an investigation into the apparent homicide.
