A 21-year-old Hispanic male named Zachary Chavez died on December 20, 2018, after being shot in Goodland, Kansas. The incident occurred at a residence at 5490 County Road 23. The Sherman County Sheriff's Office received a 911 call about the shooting at approximately 12:30 a.m. When deputies arrived, they found Chavez with a gunshot wound. Emergency services transported him to Goodland Regional Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at approximately 2 a.m.
