On a crisp December morning, the life of Aaron Snook, a 41-year-old White / Caucasian male from Goddard, Kansas, was tragically cut short in what was determined to be a hunting accident. The incident occurred on December 14, 2024, near Burrton, Kansas, where Snook was hunting with two companions. At approximately 7:10 a.m., while the three were in a duck blind, a shotgun accidentally discharged, inflicting a fatal wound upon Snook.
Emergency responders were dispatched to the scene in the 8200 block of South Prairie Lake Road, but Snook was pronounced dead at the location.
The Harvey County Sheriff's Office conducted an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death. After a thorough review of the incident, authorities concluded that the shooting was accidental and that no foul play was suspected. Consequently, the investigation was closed, and no arrests were made in connection with the fatal accident. There are no suspects in this case, as it has been officially ruled an unfortunate and tragic accident.

He was described as a man with an adventurous spirit who enjoyed fishing, traveling, attending Kansas State University football games, and snow skiing with his family. He was a devoted family man, survived by his wife, Meagan, and their three children. His passing has left a significant void in the lives of his family, friends, and all who knew him in the community. Funeral services were held to honor his memory, including a rosary and a funeral Mass at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Wichita, followed by his interment at St. Mark Cemetery.
