In the early evening of April 15, 2021, a tragedy unfolded in Topeka, Kansas, that cut short the life of 16-year-old Emuel Iziah Torres. The young man, identified in most reports as Emmanuel Iziah Ulysses Torres, was fatally shot near the intersection of S.E. 6th Avenue and Chandler Street. The incident occurred around 7:22 p.m., at which time officers from the Topeka Police Department were dispatched to the scene.
