In the early morning hours of May 27, 2021, the life of Aaron Shepherd, a 49-year-old White male from Topeka, Kansas, was tragically cut short. Just before 4:45 a.m., in the city's Central Park neighborhood, a mixed area of homes and businesses, Shepherd was discovered suffering from gunshot wounds. Despite being rushed to a local hospital by ambulance, he succumbed to his injuries.
