In the early morning hours of July 27, 2014, a tragic event unfolded in the nation's capital that cut short the life of a young man. Yewondwosen Girma Hailemarian, a 30-year-old Black male from Fairfax, Virginia, was found suffering from at least one gunshot wound in the unit block of N Street, Northeast, Washington, D.C.
