On the evening of September 16, 2015, at approximately 8:30 pm, 38-year-old Levi Kinte Davis was fatally shot in the 4200 block of East Capitol Street, NE, Washington, DC. Emergency responders transported him to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.

In December 2016, over a year after the incident, the Metropolitan Police Department arrested 49-year-old Carmelita Henderson, charging her with first-degree murder while armed in connection with Davis's death.
