In the late afternoon of Monday, February 29, 2016, a burst of violence shattered the day in the 2700 block of Langston Place SE in Washington, D.C. Twenty-one-year-old Adam Edwin Barker, a Black male, was shot at approximately 4:19 p.m. First responders found him with grave injuries and rushed him to a local hospital. Despite the efforts of medical staff, he succumbed to his wounds the following day, March 1, 2016.
