On a Saturday night in September 2019, the life of 19-year-old DeAndre Person was tragically cut short in a fatal shooting in Northeast Washington, D.C. The incident occurred around 10:22 p.m. in the 3600 block of Jay Street, Northeast. When police officers arrived at the scene, they found Person suffering from a gunshot wound.
Emergency medical services transported him to a nearby hospital, but despite their efforts, he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.
DeAndre Person was a resident of Northeast, D.C. In the aftermath of the shooting, the D.C. Police Department initiated an investigation into the homicide.
