In the early morning hours of July 2, 2016, a tragic event unfolded in the 200 block of 50th Street, NE in Washington, D.C. It was there, at approximately 5:20 a.m., that 35-year-old John Williams III, a Black male, was found suffering from gunshot wounds. The Metropolitan Police Department responded to the scene, but despite their efforts, Williams was pronounced dead.
