A 31-year-old man from Oxon Hill, Maryland, Hucks was discovered on a sidewalk in front of an apartment building, having sustained a fatal gunshot wound. The incident occurred at approximately 8:43 p.m., prompting a swift response from Seventh District officers who were in the vicinity and heard the
gunfire.
Upon their arrival, officers found Hucks unconscious. D.C. Fire and Emergency Medical Services personnel were called to the scene, but tragically, they found no signs of life. Hucks was pronounced dead at the location, his life abruptly cut short by an act of violence. The investigation into his death was quickly taken over by detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department's Homicide Branch.
