In the early hours of a Wednesday morning in Washington, D.C., the life of Kenneth Ronald Davis Jr., a 22-year-old male, was cut tragically short. On August 9, 2017, at approximately 1:00 a.m., Davis was shot in the 1200 block of W Street, Southeast. Officers from the Metropolitan Police Department responded to the scene and found him suffering from life-threatening gunshot wounds.
Emergency medical personnel transported Davis to a local hospital in a desperate attempt to save his life,
but his injuries proved to be too severe. He was pronounced dead at the hospital. Investigators believe that after being shot, Davis ran several blocks before collapsing in a small field at Green and Galen Streets, SE.
Born on July 3, 1995, in Prince George's County, Maryland, Kenneth, also known as 'Ken-Ken,' was remembered for his good heart and his love for family and friends. He was known for having the 'biggest, brightest personality' and being the 'life of the party.' He attended public schools in Prince George's County and later became a resident of Washington, D.C.
The Metropolitan Police Department is actively investigating the homicide and has offered a reward of up to $25,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for his death. To date, there has been no public announcement regarding any arrests made or suspects identified in the shooting death of Kenneth Ronald Davis Jr. The case remains open as his family and friends continue to seek justice.
