In the early hours of a Sunday morning in Washington, D.C., violence shattered the quiet of a Southeast neighborhood. On August 19, 2018, at approximately 1:32 a.m., officers from the Metropolitan Police Department responded to the sound of gunshots in the 3900 block of Southern Avenue, SE.
