In the late hours of Halloween night in 2018, a dispute on a Washington, D.C. street escalated into a fatal encounter that claimed the life of 34-year-old James Eric Ferrell. The male victim was found by Metropolitan Police Department officers on the unit block of Massachusetts Avenue NE, just outside of Union Station, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. An altercation had reportedly preceded the shooting. Ferrell was rushed to a local hospital but succumbed to his injuries.
