The events leading to his death began when he was a passenger in a vehicle being pursued by a green two-door Lexus. After a brief chase, the vehicle Middleton was in parked on the 900 block of Division Avenue, Northeast.
The driver of the Lexus then approached the passenger side of the parked car and opened fire.
Officers from the Sixth District of the Metropolitan Police Department responded to reports of the shooting at approximately 10:49 p.m. Upon arrival, they learned that Middleton and another adult male had been taken to a local hospital with multiple gunshot wounds.
