In the late hours of a Tuesday night in Washington, D.C., the life of 25-year-old Marcellus Smith was tragically cut short. On June 10, 2025, at approximately 10:08 p.m., the sound of gunfire shattered the relative quiet of the 1200 block of East Capitol Street, Southeast, in the Lincoln Park neighborhood. When first responders from the Metropolitan Police Department arrived at the scene, they discovered a young man suffering from a gunshot wound.
