On a late summer evening in Washington, D.C., the life of 28-year-old Leonzo Shaw was cut short by gunfire. The incident occurred on Friday, August 27, 2021, at approximately 10:16 p.m. in the 1400 block of Minnesota Avenue, Southeast. When officers from the Metropolitan Police Department arrived at the scene, they discovered Mr. Shaw suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. D.C. Fire and Emergency Medical Services personnel who also responded found that he showed no signs of life.
