On October 8, 2024, at approximately 7:40 p.m., Selma police responded to a shooting incident in the 800 block of Philpot Avenue. Upon arrival, officers discovered 32-year-old DonShon McCants with life-threatening injuries. He was transported to Vaughan Regional Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries while awaiting airlift.
