Allen "AJ" Colvin Jr., a 15-year-old freshman at Selma High School in Selma, Alabama, was shot on June 1, 2024, at the Jim Minor Garden Homes. He succumbed to his injuries two weeks later, on June 15, 2024. Following his death, the Selma Police Department initiated a homicide investigation. Funeral services were held on June 22, 2024, at the Selma High School auditorium, with burial at Lorenzo Harrison Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
