In the early morning hours of Sunday, February 3, 2019, the sounds of gunshots shattered the predawn quiet in a Northeast Washington, D.C. neighborhood. When officers from the Metropolitan Police Department arrived at the 500 block of 60th Street, Northeast, at approximately 2:48 a.m., they found a man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was identified as 59-year-old Michael Bernard Wells, a resident of Northeast, D.C.
