On April 29, 2020, 26-year-old Devonte Speight was fatally shot in Washington, DC. The incident occurred on the 1800 block of Maryland Avenue, NE, where Speight was riding his dirt bike. The suspects, identified as Derrick Kearney and Daquan Anglin, allegedly shot Speight from their vehicle. Kearney, 26, and Anglin, 25, were both charged with first-degree murder while armed in connection with Speight's death.
