In the early hours of a Tuesday morning in Washington, D.C., a sequence of events unfolded that would end in the tragic death of 30-year-old Nurudeen Thomas. On July 21, 2020, at approximately 5:04 a.m., officers from the Metropolitan Police Department responded to a report of a shooting in the 4100 block of 14th Street, Northwest.
