On August 14, 2017, Petros Gurmessa Amessa, aged 58, was fatally shot in the 4300 block of 2nd Street NE, Washington, DC, at approximately 10:04 PM. Amessa, a resident of Northeast DC, was found suffering from an apparent gunshot wound and was transported to a hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
