On November 6, 2020, at approximately 10:40 am, Demetrius Jones, a 41-year-old resident of Northeast, Washington, DC, was tragically shot and killed in the 1700 block of Gales Street, NE. Responding officers from the Fifth District found Jones suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Despite the efforts of DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services, Jones was transported to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead after all life-saving measures failed.
