On July 16, 2001, Melvin Turner Jr., aged 30, was tragically killed in a shooting that also took the life of Myron Morgan Jr. The incident occurred at approximately 10:25 p.m. in the alley alongside #8 Evarts Street, Northeast, Washington, D.C.
