In the early morning hours of Saturday, December 4, 2021, the life of 40-year-old Willie Spain Jr. was tragically cut short in the Benning Ridge neighborhood of Southeast Washington, D.C. At approximately 1:11 a.m., officers from the Metropolitan Police Department responded to reports of a shooting in the 4400 block of Falls Terrace SE, near the Benning Terrace Recreation Center. Upon arrival, they discovered Mr. Spain suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
Despite the immediate response, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
