On a Saturday morning in Washington, D.C., the life of 28-year-old Mark Cobrand Jr. was tragically cut short. On March 19, 2022, at approximately 10:55 a.m., officers from the Metropolitan Police Department were dispatched to the 4200 block of Southern Avenue, Southeast, following a report of an unconscious person. Upon their arrival, they discovered a grim scene.
Inside a vehicle, they found Mark Cobrand Jr. suffering from gunshot wounds. D.C.
Fire and Emergency Medical Services personnel responded to the location but found that he showed no signs consistent with life. He was pronounced dead at the scene, and his body was subsequently transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner. At the time of his death, official reports listed him as having no fixed address.
The Metropolitan Police Department's Homicide Branch is actively investigating the death of Mark Cobrand Jr. as a homicide. In an effort to gather information that may lead to the capture of those responsible, the department is offering a substantial reward of up to $25,000 for any information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons involved in his murder.
