On the evening of July 16, 2022, a report of an unconscious person led officers from the Seventh District to the 1900 block of Anacostia Drive, Southeast, in Washington, D.C. There, at approximately 9:00 PM, they discovered Keonte Broadus-Gallman, a 22-year-old man from Alexandria, Virginia. He was suffering from what appeared to be gunshot wounds.
Emergency medical services arrived at the scene and transported Broadus-Gallman to a nearby hospital in an effort to save his life.
Despite their efforts, he was pronounced dead at the hospital. The Metropolitan Police Department's Homicide Branch has since launched an investigation into the shooting.
As of now, the investigation remains ongoing, and no arrests have been made in connection with the homicide. The police have not publicly identified any suspects. A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered for any information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for Keonte Broadus-Gallman's death. The authorities are encouraging anyone with information to come forward to assist in the investigation and bring justice to his family.
