On September 22, 2019, Jamel Kirkland, age 17, was fatally shot in the 1300 block of Morris Road SE, Washington, D.C. The incident occurred at approximately 9:52 pm, when officers from the Metropolitan Police Department's Seventh District responded to reports of gunshots in the area.
