In the late hours of a Friday night in Washington, D.C., a burst of gunfire shattered the peace on September 9, 2022. When the sound of the shots faded, 40-year-old Keith Allen, a Black male, was left fatally wounded in the 1300 block of 5th Street, NW. The Metropolitan Police Department, responding to reports of the shooting, discovered Allen suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
Despite the immediate response from emergency medical services, his injuries proved too severe, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
